Leadership Competencies
The Master of Arts in Leadership (MAiL) program is a competency based leadership model of education. It focuses on building on an individual's knowledge, values, skills, and abilities and assessing how those change over time to show knowledge, growth, new understanding, and application. The MAiL program identifies three meta-competencies that provide a framework through which all knowledge, skill acquisition, and personal development is engaged. Building on this framework, there are five core competencies that specifically guide each leadership student to grow and develop in key leadership areas. This competency-based model has taught me to articulate my strengths and abilities and has provided tools for my self-awareness and self-assessment. I invite you to read the specific articulation of competence for each of the five core competencies. This will give you a clearer picture of my learning and growth in each area.
