A Leader's Journey
I have learned to view leadership as a journey, a transformational process of becoming something different so you can answer God's unique call and design for your life that only you can fill. "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'"(Jeremiah 29:11). As we begin to let go of what we feel we want to become, allow for deep change and a transformation to occur, that is when we can really discover who we are and what we were designed for. "In Christian spiritual transformation, the self that embarks on the journey is not the self that arrives. The self that begins the spiritual journey is the self of our own creation, the self we thought ourselves to be. This is the self that dies on the journey. The self that arrives is the self that was loved into existence by Divine Love" (Benner, 2004, p. 110). My time in the Master of Arts in Leadership program has truly been a transformational journey for me in so many ways. I invite you to walk with me through some aspects of that journey as you read through the pages of this website.
