Through my time in the Master of Arts in Leadership program I have been introduced to some incredible leadership books. This is a list of just some of the books that have greatly impacted my leadership journey and my philosophy. I would highly recommend these to anyone interested in developing personally as a leader.
Deep change: Discovering the Leader Within by Robert Quinn (1996)
Through the simple power of self-knowledge that fuels the passion, vision, and willingness to take risks that create excellence, this book reveals the remarkable capacity each of us holds to change ourselves and ultimately our organizations. Only by being transformed ourselves, can leaders truly be effective agents of change for those they lead.

Leading for a Lifetime: How Defining Moments Shape the Leaders of Today and Tomorrow by Warren Bennis and Robert Thomas (2007)
Warren Bennis and Robert Thomas set to find out how era and values shape those who lead. At the heart of this model are what the authors call "crucibles" - utterly transforming periods of testing from which one can emerge either hopelessly broken or powerfully emboldened to learn and to lead.

Crucibles of Leadership by Robert Thomas (2008)
Experience may very well be a leader's best teacher. The author concludes that what matters most is what one makes of experience and what distinguishes leaders who grow through the crucible experiences is their approach to learning. Thomas walks the reader through a reflective process that leads to the development of a personal learning strategy.
